iLs: a complementary therapy to help control and address ADHD symptoms

Uncontrolled ADHD can get you in trouble

Whether you have a kid diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or you are an adult living with it, you know what it’s like. ADHD is typically defined as a problem with inattentiveness, lack of concentration, hyperactivity, impulsivity or a combination of those behaviors, which can seriously interfere with school and home life, and in the case of adults, with relationships.

At Integrated Listening Systems we aim to help as many people as possible, by addressing ADHD symptoms through a method that complements regular ADHD therapies to maximize results; allowing you or your child to be in better control of your actions instead of acting out of impulse most of the time.

How does iLs address ADHD?

The majority of the current strategies for treating this disorder are behavioral or pharmaceutical. The behavioral approach relies on the cognitive processes of the cortex, or the “thinking brain”, so it is often ineffective when it comes to self-regulation and impulse control.  Pharmaceuticals can be very helpful, but have adverse side effects that can create new problems and future repercussions.

However, what most experts agree on is that there’s no single simple solution to the complexity of ADHD. The iLs programs complement both behavioral and pharmaceutical approaches by working at the physiological level, requiring the “thinking brain” to attend while simultaneously ‘exercising’ areas of the lower brain and the body involved in regulation and information processing.

addressing ADHD symptoms through iLs method

Specific clinical reports show iLs to be successful in addressing these ADHD symptoms:

  • Concentration: staying on task for longer periods of time
  • Communication: paying attention during conversation; improved listening
  • Organization: planning and following through on tasks; less procrastination
  • Physical regulation: calmer demeanor, less fidgety
  • Anxiety: reducing nervousness and improving sleeping patterns

With better synaptic connectivity, we can perform better!

iLs programs are based on a widely accepted principle called Neuroplasticity, which is the ability of the brain to change and adapt in response to stimulation.

Just as we can train our bodies to become stronger and healthier, iLs provides gentle and precise stimulation that activates neural pathways, training the brain to process sensory, cognitive and emotional information more effectively; improving brain function, interconnectivity and strength.
